Yup,
you have to at least drive and have it checked out, ask around if any of your friends knows a dealer who can organize a dealer plate for you, to drive around. When I bought my 83 380 sel, Grandpa was getting rid of his toys, he let me drive it to my mechanic, who checked it out and said it needed a minor tune up.
Anyway my point have it checked out prior, if you can. if not RUN, you'll find another.
