Report from previous thread.... early '80s 300D cost about $35G whereas 240D stick shift cost $24,000. One forum member reports '77 w123 300D at $18G.
Notes I had made in my chilton repair book that I've had since '86 tell me the 114 280/8 sold for $7,800 new in '73.
You can double the price of ordinary cars of any era to find typical MB prices...... ahem, this would make '60s finbodies cost less than $5G brand new, probably at/near $3,200 for the humble diesel.
Gotta get myself one of those primitive finbody diesels in mint condition souped up with 240D engine one day - knowing the car has not depreciated one nickel from its original sticker price.
