I have a 98 C280 with 60000 miles that has started to have Parking brakes that drag. The wheel would get so hot I couldn't touch it.
I've noticed this on both rear wheels in the last two weeks first one then the other. I've adjusted them so they were free but then the problem happened again today.
I bought the car new and never use the parking brakes
Could these be self adjusting themselves to the point of making contact?
I was going to open them up and look them over but the service manual I have ( Haynes) tell you to replace the bolts for the calipers and I don't want to drive 50 miles to a dealer to get new bolts. Is this really required? I didn't find mention of replacing the bolts in any forum
