My tech and I are scratching our heads since we carried out a cylinder head re-furb on the big tourer estate. Our handbook doesn't give much help on how we can get the self-levelling system to operate after we had to remove the pump etc. and refit during the head overhaul.
Can anyone give us a direction to go to get the rear dampers to operate now?
Additional information: the back end is down and bouncing like a tractor.
We have refilled the system with the correct fluid - but do we have to bleed it, or re-pressurise somehow? The HAYNES manual doesn't give specifics on this - only how to change the valve, accumulators etc. Someone has suggested that we should either put about 150 kilos (350 lbs) in the load area and run the engine at 3000 RPM - or, disconnect the link arm, push it full up and run to 3000 RPM for a couple of mins, then reconnect - does that sound right??
