thank you for the quick response - the owners' manual (which I happen to have a copy of with me) -- says, with respect to the SRS indicator lamp, that "the following system components are monitored or undergo a self-check: crash-sensors, air bag ignition circuit, driver and front passenger seat belt buckles."

In my 107 the SRS light is always lit, but the seat belt light functions nominally -- is this an indication that the problem in the SRS system is not in the buckles?
