Diff swap

Hi Uk mercman,
Being a different model, yours might not be the same but on my W123 the drive shafts are held into the diff by a circlip on each shaft, which is situated inside the diff on the end of the drive shaft spline. Drain diff oil and remove rear cover plate, you will see the ends of the drive shafts protruding through the gears. The circlips on mine do not require circlip pliers, as they have a lug with a hole in it, just make a hook with a piece of stiff wire hook the lug and pull, then slide out the shaft.
