Question What type of transmission do I have??

I have read the manual that came with my 1995 E320 wagon, and it indicates there are three (3) different (auto) transmissions available for the year / model: a 5-speed auto, a 4-speed auto, and a 4-speed auto for the diesel. It shows pictures in the book of the shifter gates / bezel unit (The black thing with the gear indicators on it) Mine is identical to the 4-speed auto for the diesel, but of course mine is the 3.2 DOHC 24-Valve I-6. It doesn't have any buttons or switches on it for winter or standard modes.

What's Up?

Do most E320's have which tranny? How do you tell the trim level of an E320 (Ford has XLT, Eddie Bauer, etc, for higher trim lines)

Is mine a "strippo" MB? What determines whether it has flat door trims or the pleated ones? Do all wagons have the automatic rear gate closing device? What's different on the wagon then the sedan?

Thanks in advance
