Take a sample of brake fluid from the car and see if it'll mix with water. If it does mix with water, then it is the glycol type of fluid. If it doesn't mix, it's either silicone or something else.

Harley-Davidson is the only manufacturer I know that specifies silicone-based brake fluid.
