I changed the filter and fluid in the tranny back in spring when I first bought my 79 240d. Is it normal for the fluid to be hardly luke warm even after a 20 or 30 mile high speed trip? The main reason for the question is my level sits right at the add mark and I believe it is just because the trans is cool. It is so easy to overfill it that I do not want to top it up and then have warm weather come in and find it overfilled. (even on the 95 degree plus summer days the level went up to the normal mark but still was not
hot at all) It seem my U.S. vehicles trans fluid is always scorching hot. Thanks for any input. Dave
