Yes. It is the long dipstick that makes it hard to determine.
Check BOTH sides of the dipstick!
ATF gets smeared along the dipstick on the way up or down the 'dipstick pipe' so you can easily get a wrong reading.
Never criticize someone until you've walked a mile in his shoes. That way, when you do, you're a mile away -and you have his shoes!
