Hi Q-Ball

I don't know your car but I did mine on an '87 420 SEL.
They need little torqueing, I believe 8 ftlbs and in my case 2 bolts on the driverside have nuts on top which you have to loosen first. Otherwise the bolt will brake.
My torque wrench needed a calibration. It was clear when the gasket split before I ever got to 8 ftlbs.
Clean the mating surfaces well, oil the gasket well and watch for splitting.
Maybe somebody with your motor will chime in if different.
