Ah, actually there is something here folks are missing. I discovered this when friends of ours came home and found a robbery in progress. You see the thieves needed an OLD car which was easy to hot-wire, versus newer cars, which they were using as their get-away vehicle. That, or they snatch a new one with the keys in it. In this case the 70's toyota they left behind was picked up later by the very happy university student. The cops told me they usually find them later afire in the hills... So the kid was lucky, also he didn't need a key to start it anymore, just ground the wires together.
