Success

I've got the water pump out.

I was not able to get the fan drive off. I had to undo the tensioner bits and the PS pump. The tensioner is out of the way but because I couldn't get the bolt that holds the bracket to the block, I had to wiggle the tensioner out of the way. The bottom bolt was revealed and loosened. The top rear bolt broke my SEARS 1/4" u-joint so I had to use the 3/8" drive, u-joint and 13mm socket. I don't know if the pump is the original one, but the bolts were really tight. BTW, it's an MB water pump. I'm using an aftermarket one.

This design really is crappy. On my departed Fintails, at least you could get to everything. The layout was good and everything could be easily serviced. Not so the M103. I bet the V-8's are worse though.

So tomorrow I'll attack the installation, after I help my father with his PC. Maybe I'll do it the day after.

I need a shower and a rest.
