I'd suggest you choose a stylish, anti-static wardrobe.
Polyesters, nylons and wools will quickly build up a static charge, while cotton won't. I find I get zapped most when I scoot over the seat. The woolen longhandles rub inside the polyester leisure suit
and build up a charge.
When I reach the edge of the seat, I touch the metal door handle, which is attached to the car frame, and transfer my charge to the mass of the car body
before my feet hit even the ground.
Hanging static wires may not be the best solution because:
a) You might look like an old hot-rodder
b) Draining charge from the car to the ground makes room for more.
