I have not met Louis, but he is my service advisor. An old friend of mine, actually he used to be married to my wife's twin sister is my tech there. I have not yet taken my C240 in for it's first service, so I haven't actually met Louis yet. My friend John Morris is one of the techs in Louis' team.

John is not a transmission specialist, but they probably install factory rebuilts anyway.

I agree with other replies that a transmission from the MB dealer would be gosh awful expensive. The problem is finding a known good transmission shop. It might even be worth having one shipped from New Jersey, or wherever this known good transmission shop is.

I'm sure that if you needed a common Ford or GM transmission there would be fifty places in the DFW area to find a good one.

Keep posting and maybe you can find a known good shop in DFW.
