Did you know that Mercedes Benz has issued a bulletin regarding the screws and nuts which secure the lower center engine compartment panel in the S430 and S500? The factory has determined that the mounting screws and clip nuts which attach this panel to the front axle carrier may corrode. Mounting screws with improved surface protection against corrosion have been used on vehicles produced SINCE August 1999. The affected screws and nuts will be replaced on other vehicles on their next scheduled visit to a dealership for maintenance.
