I actually got conflicting ideas. Most people say the pressure switch turns off/on the compressor and the temperature switch turns off/on the a/c fan.

Two pressure sensors (or switches), both on receiver/drier. One is red with pigtail wires which controls the auxiliary fan. The other has the contacts sticking out the switch. It senses the freon pressure and may cut off the clutch if not enough freon is detected.
