I'm glad to see that others agree with my "don't fix if not broken" ideas. If I have any suspicious GP, I.E. one that has a resistance higher than the others, I connect it directly to the battery and observe the glowing tip. If its a bright orange, I consider it OK.

This is kind of the way I've been testing GP over the last 20 years except I've always used a good battery charger. This way I eliminate the potential of having a battery explode in my face and the showering battery acid making rags of my clothes.
