if none of you have noticed, I'm responding to anything on this site that I can....
I drive on the track whenever possible [not in the deezl] and my comment is
SMOOTH and HARD are not mutually exclusive
I can attest to the fact that the fastest track times are acheived by SMOOTH ... the accelerator WILL be floored, the brakes WILL be maximally applied and the tires WILL reach the maximum point of adhesion BUT they will be arrived at smoothly.
That said, the old Volvo with 260-280+K gets driven pretty hard.
