86 300E - Trying to Repair Airbox Housing

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me in figuring what would be best to use in repairing my airbox housing. I just purchased a good used one yesterday, but today managed to crack one of the mounting brackets removing a stubborn flex-mount that was left on it. In removing the stuck nut, the mount twisted and cracked most of the way through. Does anyone know what material the lower airbox housing is made of and what would be best to use to attempt a repair? I was thinking of using JB Weld just because it usually works on about anything, but thought I'd ask first. Also, should I try to reinforce the area with some sort of mesh imbedded in the JB Weld (or whatever) over the surface of the crack?

Thanks for any help

Gary
