Just because the radio doesn't say "CD" on any buttons, it may still be able to control it. Does it have a "source" or "band" button on it? In 1993 I think the E-Class radio could operate a CD Changer. In my 92 Range Rover (with factory CD Changer, best fac system I have heard yet!) access to the CD is achieved by hitting the band button, and it will only go to CD mode if a changer is attached. Your preset buttons control the disc and tune / seek changes track. I know on the 94-95 w124 E classes radios can certainly control a CD changer (they have a "CD" button) If your vehicle has the cables it definitely means your stock Becker unit can control a factory changer.
