Problem with unbuckling air filter cansiter
I never gave it much thought, but I have always noticed that on my 1984 300SD that the air filter buckle is hard to unbuckle. The latch bumps into the fire wall, and it is a very tight squeeze to get the lactch up.
So far, I had to fix two air filter canister mounts and fabricate a new air filter bracket. With all these broken things and the buckle problem, I was thinking that the air filter rubbing up against the firewall caused things to break which would mean that the engine was leaning. The only thing I can think that could cause the engine to lean is a broken engine mount.
I am just wondering if this is problem everyone has, and this is not a sign of anything wrong or could it be an engine mount?
