Hi Joe,
Yes,I know a Q-Jet can replace the 4A1, around here the replacement of choice (for people who know what they are doing) is a Weber 40DCNF, remember the Citroen SM V-6 you had in a couple of years back, same piece of kit, but only one is required to replace a 4A1, not a trio! Gives good throttle response and reasonable fuel consumption when set up right.
In any case, right now I'll stick with the M115 engine and Stromberg carb, it works well enough for my current requirements!
A OM617 turbo would be nice, but cannot be made to work on right hand drive cars(steering box gets in the way of turbo and downpipe).
