You don't have to let the canister filter loose. There is a bleed hole in the top of the filter housing that will let out all the air.

Also, you probably don't need both filters. Try replacing the inline filter first. If that solves the problem, the can filter is OK.

You might do one of the fixes at a time so you learn which one fixed the problem (or made it worse).
