sorry i need to know exactly which sensor you are refering to. Can you show us a picture? Do you mean the CTS sensor that goes near, or almost at, the thermostat???


If it is, the sensor can be replaced by a mere screw off and screw on. You will loss some coolant, so it will be messy, but thats all it takes.

PLEASE DO THIS WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD!!!!

Before replacing, you should use a multimeter to check the ohm readings on the sensor. Its strange the sensor can go bad from a wash! try cleaning it a bit and re-plug the wires. could be as simple as lose contact!
