Yes, there's a good example. Mark and I compared horror stories a year or so ago, (he has a friend with a Cirrus too) and we both had similar stories to tell. The only thing mine lacked was a blown trannie, and was one of the big reasons for dumping it before I had to spend another $2200 on it for that.
One of the fellas at my local NAPA store has a '99 Cirrus, and loves it. I asked him how many miles he had on it, and seems he said somewhere around 80k. Maybe, just maybe, they've improved. I do know they went to a thicker front brake rotor, eliminating the warped-brake-rotor-every-30k-miles syndrome.
I suppose they're not much worse than alot of cars out there. But once bitten, twice smart for me.
