Mike and Donnie, thanks for the replies.
Mike, I've been there before on the "no stopee" vacuum routine on our old car (300SD). Sometimes I wish we still had it.
Donnie, all o'rings are in place. The car did run after the fuel filter change for 5 minutes or more. In fact, we moved it to another place on the driveway before the trouble started. When we shut it down after starting and running it twice, it acted like it didn't want to stop, and then set the code. I erased the code, but if the shutdown actuator failed, it will still be faulty. It isn't just some random code, I guess.
I feel better .... I think. Did I do something wrong during the filter change to cause the actuator to fail? Or am I just another victim of circumstance? Also, I looked "high and low", and I cannot find a priming pump on this car. The old SD had one. Did they leave them off of the newer cars?
Again, thank you both for helping me. I appreciate it very much.
