The Odometer (it reads 110250 miles) reading on the W126 odometer is not working although the speedometer is.

Our local tech. has checked and dismantled the unit but couldn't "repair" the fault. I had the whole unit changed but the new one was not working very well because of some "earth connection". So - I got them to put the original one back.

The W126 is an imported unit from UK, and thus maybe the local unit was not totally compatible.

In any event, any suggestion on how to get the meter running again?
