NO!
DNO SD 240 nozzles were NOT fitted to 123 series 616 and 617 engines after October 1981. Four different types of nozzle were fitted to these engines during the production run as PC chambers were redesigned. There is a BIG difference between SD 240 and SD 240/ and the safest way to find the correct part is to take your engine No. along to an MB agent and check against the parts data-base.

Nozzles manufactured in the EU (i.e. before production ceased in 2002) are easily identified by their packaging. EU nozzles were dipped in thick brown wax protection and packed in individual yellow Bosch boxes. All Bosch DN nozzles dipped in oil and in plastic packaging are of Indian origin. Also Indian nozzles are a ground finish on the pintle face of the nozzle – EU nozzles are a lapped finish on this face.
