Hope this might help

just tightened up my parking brake on my C230 three weekends back

on my car the parking brake is activated by a drum design inside the brake disc hub

when the wheel/tire is taken off and with proper lighting - halogen work lamp or small flashlight with pinpoint focus - you look through the upper lug nut holes and by moving the disc from around 11 o'clock over to 2 o'clock you will find a little gear wheel with the teeth facing outwards - be sure not to confuse it with the larger springs which have a similar apperance - and by rotating the teeth with the blade of a flat blade srewdriver the brake should tighten up in

on my car the driver side gear was rotated downwards and in about seven pivots with the screwdriver tightened up, then I backed off to just when it started to free wheel. on the passenger side the gear tightens by being moved in the opposite direction - upwards

I think the desired is to have full activation of the parking brake in ten clicks of the parking brake pedal
