No pin #3 on my X11

Okay, folks try this one on. I have a European 1985 280sl. The best I can tell, it is K-Jetronic fuel injection. I wanted to adjust the mixture and test the lambda control unit. Well, guess what? I have the X11 test connector on my car, but I couldn't get any readings at all. On closer observation, I realized that there is no electrical contact all in the #3 pin. It is just plastic down there, whereas the other ones have an electrical contact and I can get some sort of reading. What is going on here? Is there a way to hook in some place else to get a duty cycle reading? Maybe on one of the wires to the frequency valve? How do I go about checking the operation of my lambda control unit? The O2 sensor was unhooked when I got the car. I replaced it with a new one and it seems to make no difference whether or not is it hooked or not on how the car runs. I have a rough idle, and it is too rich at idle to the point where I can't run the a/c. I don't think there are any vac. leaks.

Thanks in advance.
