FWIW, I have progressive as my insurance carrier (maybe I'm getting screwed, maybe not) and have really had pretty good luck with them. The only time I have dealt with them was a minor claim for an accident that was not my fault and everything was handled pretty well. I think it sort of depends on who the local progressive vendor is.
