I'm interested in your comments re parts for the Hammer and this is were I have to have to spill the beans, ie; here comes the truth!
I own a genuine Hammer.....the only one in the UK by all accounts and I'm maybe interested in selling my car, hence the question about prices.
By way of interest, you can still get all of the service parts you need for the car, ie head gaskets etc by ordering them through your local Merc dealer......I originally thought I was doomed to never being able to find new Head Gaskets and spent months trying to find somebody at AMG to help me out.
Finally I managed to get somebody to respond and was given all of the part numbers I needed and was told to order then through my local Benz dealer!!!!
Much to my surprise they ordered them and they arrived a week later!
I agree that they are a pretty sophisticated pieces of equipment to keep tuned, however, here in the UK I'm lucky that my local independent has the experience to keep the car running well.
