I read it, thoroughly enjoyed it. I remembered Wilkinson's writing from Car & Driver in the 70s, when I was in elementary/high school. The cover quote from C&D sums it up nicely: half autobiography, half "Zen and the Art of Porsche Restoration". He alternates chapters between adventures from his reasonably interesting life (Harvard student, merchant seaman, drug smuggling pilot, volunteer ambulance driver) and details about his Porsche restoration - lots of interesting insights. If you've restored lots of Porsches you might find those chapters simplistic/boring; if you've just thought about it, you'll come away knowing a lot more than you do now. It's also a quick read - I knocked it off in about 3 hours one evening.
