is a Mac really better for making DVDs?
I have a couple dozen 8mm videotapes I'd like to trasnfer to DVD. Folks I know who've done this on PC platforms say it takes from 3 to 8 hours of work to get an hour's worth of playback. Plus the success rate is low - all that invested effort to discover that the last 20 minutes has blank video. Do Macs make simple work of this? If so, what is the oldest Mac I should consider? Oh, I want a DVD I can play on any DVD player, not just on a computer. I don't need the best image quality. Broadcast TV quality is good enough for me.
Thanks,
Sixto
