There is a very popular bouldering area (not much gear required) off the 118 in Chatsworth. Just bring your shoes and chaulk bag. Its very well known, I just can't remember the major cross street. Its the last offramp heading west before you go over the hill into Simi.

Go see something for your mind and stay away from The Tragic Kingdom et al. Try te Norton Simon in Pasadena or the Getty museum off Mulholund and the 405. The Getty is free, you just need reservations.

OR for something really neat, try the Peterson Automotive Museum in Mid-Wilshire.
