Wrong re the drain. Is on the left side. The hoses are both upper and lower radiator hoses. Remove both from radiator. Both on the right side of radiator. Thermostat housing is at the other end of the upper radiator hose. BTW if you have the black plastic thermostat housing, replace it ASAP with metal one (they always break at the worst possible time. Mine let go on a Sunday afternoon on 5th Avenue in NYC). Remove the three 10mm capscrews, remove the thermostat and replace the cover. Take your garden hose and push it into the lower radiator hose. Turn on the water, start the engine and watch what comes out the top hose. Of course drain the radiator and use ecological common sense when dealing with used coolant. Do a search on flushing or flush. It will give your some good info on how to proceed..
