Joel - after awhile, the body of cars would have "moved" a little. Its a very natural mechanical phenomena. At any one time while we drive round bends and corners or even a simple turn-around, a lot of parts and body are being twisted - so marginally that you will not notice the difference.

Until many, many year later, the doors would have moved in a little, or out a little, and the boot cover doesnt close as well as it should, etc ...

So, when I had the Benz resprayed, its only natural that the doors and its seal would have been disturbed, hence the increase wind noise.

Being the W126 which is more sensitive if the doors were out of place (and it was a little), we had to realign the doors so that the seal sits directly on the door edges. Thus, wind noise would be reduced.
