Whatever the cost of the repair you should be able to get a copy of it. I would think if it's actually $7,000 the adjuster would have a hard time completely ignoring it. I used to have no trouble getting prior owner service tickets from dealers on cars that I purchased. But the last time I tried, a few months ago, the dealer sited "privacy" concerns and wouldn't give me anything - unless I got a signed and notarized letter of permission from the prior owner who had the work done - which I got. This shouldn't be a problem if you know the prior owner. I would think it's worth a try.
