Had similar problem with the "EZL" in my S500. Mine electrically was ok, but gave out false codes (L5 CKP sensor, Load module, etc.). New one was $1113 but found one in NY for $200 taken from a wrecked MB. Fixed the problem.

My module just died and it wasn't caused by a shorted wire. That's why I posted all of the code (DTC) data in my page. Decided to fix it myself. Glad I did, learned a lot AND acquired some neat test equipment.

One question, why add another alarm to MB's alarm system? A Lojack would not have done that!
