This thread is mainly directed at the experienced Automoive Technician.

Does the idea of Audio Files (not to large) appeal to you in the aid of mechanical diagnosis?

What I had in mind is possibly members sending in a recording of conditions that produce a noticeable noise.

This could be accomplished via freeware/shareware available to download off the web for free, a recorder such as hand held cassette($20) or something more sophisticated such as a MiniDisk player/recorder ($200) and a microphone. Then via the software, the audio could be converted into a wav file (for example) that can be listened to by you after uploaded to the web.

Basically, would this method help and would you guys be receptive to the idea???

Thanks
