I get stange looks once in a while when someone actually clues in to the diesel Sonoma, but with the diesel Jetta's I've owned, I never had anyone look sideways at them.
Good observation- I think it's strictly a U.S. thing. I would say that the majority of Jetta's that zoom past me on the highway are TDI. I have no idea what VW's official sales are in Canada, but from what you see on the road, I would bet Diesels are outselling gas in Canada. The U.S. enjoys the world's lowest prices at the pump by a long shot- not like Canada, Europe etc. where our prices are close to $3.50 per U.S. gallon- made worse by our weaker dollar. And they gripe when the price goes over $1.70!

By the way- I'm in Sackville NB- where do you live in NS?
