I don't know how "melt-proof" the light on a W210 are, but I know for a fact that original lights on a W124 are not very happy with 100W bulbs. Don't ask me how I know. Since "I know", I have installed Euro lights with 55 W bulbs.
I also know the Honda CR-V headlights cost $327.00 each ...and don't ask me how I know.
