Personally, I want the least amount of obstructions infront of my lights. Each lens should cut down performance by 15%...and thats if the lens is free of optics. If it has lens optics (lines on lens) they will change the pattern of the light causing glare to others and reducing performance for the driver.
Im a bit of a lighting nut, so I am willing to make sacrifices to obtain good visibility.
