Well the rear bumper bounce test will tell you if their are socks back their pretty fast. I have heard of one 300SDL and a few 350's with this option it seems rare though.

Diesel MB's fetch a large premium over their gas counterparts. I think it is stupid with the newer cars, why pay tons of money for a diesel W210 unless you just have to have a diesel. For the same money you could get one with 1/2 the mileage and a few years newer with a V6 or 8.
