Use steel rims for $35 each >
Dress them up with plastic wheelcovers if you want for another $20 for a set of four. This is what people in Europe do all the time, unless you have a very high performance car and want alloys even in winter. Winter tires already compromise the performance enough that the difference between steel and alloy is insignificant. I have to laugh when my tire dealer recommends only using alloy wheels with my car (300TE) to maintain the performance. Like most, he thinks Mercedes owners are made of money.
