If you have a second key with you, you can lock the door, or maybe you have someone sitting in the car waiting who can lock the door but I bet in most of these cases, you were alone and probably left the door unlocked, you're making it REAL easy for some criminal to steal your car by letting it idle like that, even if you're gonna be gone for a second. If you've just driven it hard, and need to let the turbo cool, just sit in the car while it idles down, that's what I do.

I don't know about your car but 1 word for you. Afterglow. Every time I start my diesel up, it has a glow cycle and an afterglow. What does that do? Well it wears down the GP faster. So, if I am making a stop of a few minutes, I let it idle with the door locked since I can seperate the metal part from the electronic part. Also, this has to be in some place I feel safe and I can watch the car
