Living in the high humidity tropics, corrosion has always been a big problem. Things that never corroded when I lived in Canada for 4 years, corroded in a year in Singapore. eg chrome plated components like antennas, RCA jacks, etc. My solution is to use spray contact cleaner and a coating of anti seize/anti rust oil. They are electrically inert and will delay that problem. Also my fuses are all the brass variety which stand up much better than the aluminium ones.

Thanks for the advice. I have another question for you, since you have experience with this... Any idea how aluminum holds up in Singapore? For example a car like an Audi A8 or BMW Z8.
