Carb?? Come on Jeff, MB hasn't had a carburated car since the 230 was discontinued in 1978.
Jeffs right about it could be anything. If you wish to delve into it go to the DIY section and read the article about evaluating engine controls. If they are OK there are a number of other possibilities. Bad coil or shorted rotor finger are a couple of the cheaper ignition possibilities.
