You're right of course, people who are uncomfortable in such situations often seem stiff, arrogant, clumsy -- just different reactions to handling their own discomfort. But I have to wonder if discomfort could cause GW to claim that we attacked Iraq because Saddam was responsible for 9/11 -- this is a claim he made during the first debate, and one which Kerry quickly corrected. In response, GW found it necessary to inform the American public that he actually was aware of who Osama Bin Laden was. If that was from nerves, it was one helluva case of nerves.
